My graduate collection is formed around a concept to create contemporary slip cast vessels which interact with light and colour.
My ceramic forms are inspired by what remains architecturally of the Staffordshire pottery industry, mainly that of Spode, Gladstone and Dudson Ceramic factories. My use of Parian ware as a material to create my finished form relates to the area historically, thereby linking product and environment.
The inclusion of colour within my forms comes both from the exploration of process and also that of personal preference, linking to specific trends within the forecasting industry to create a collection which amalgamates both form and colour.
my process used within the manufacturing of my graduate collection is slip casting, here the photos demonstrate how this process works, noting specific stages in the production of the collection.
